Accomplishments:
  • Awarded "Freshman Commissioner of the Year" by Colorado Counties Inc in 2007
  • Led effort to develop on-line records of Board of County Commissioners meetings (see
    BCC Hearings)
  • Lead effort to schedule controversial hearings in the evening
  • Supported community plans in land use decisions
  • Led effort to have first-ever, independent 360 review of County Administrator
  • Increased staffing in Food Stamp and Child Protection areas without increasing taxes
  • Recognized as a leader among leaders by Colorado Counties Inc, Denver Regional
    Council of Governments, and Governor's Office (see current assignments, below)
  • Led efforts to bring Federal Funding to key Jeffco priorities including:
